Spotlight Preston.

Good morning, it is Friday.

Preston earned the position of hogging the spotlight on today's blog.

Yesterday Preston was awarded with Student of the Quarter in Math. He is in Algebra which is an advanced placement for 7th graders, mixed in with 8th graders. Maren, John, Carol, and I attended the celebration for his award the last hour of school yesterday. We made him sit with us because we love him, but next time we may let him hang out with his friends. Most of the kids sat with their parents, but many sat with friends and the parents just enjoyed the ceremony away from their teenager.

This is a picture of Preston with his certificate. He is wearing his track warm-ups because as soon as this picture was taken, he had to go to his first ever jr. high track meet. Cedar Heights vs. Meridian Jr. High...my old school!

Preston rocked in his first jr. high track meet. They don't do by grade level, just schools, so he was one of the younger kids. He won the long jump by nearly 2 feet with a personal best jump of 18'6"...amazing. Then he won the 100m dash by a few meters. Next he won the 200m dash by even more ground. Finally he was the first leg of the 4X200m relay which also won. A satisfying side part to the track meet was the fact that a fellow soccer teammate (who also plays forward and thinks he is fast like Preston) was on the opposing team. Preston left him in the dust.

Congratulations Preston, you earned the spotlight!

See you tomorrow.

Thursday!

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Yesterday was a long day for Maren, she didn't get home until after 10:00pm due to a training she was teaching. Yikes.

So what did the rest of us do??? I wish I could say that we partied all day, but that would only be partly true. We also took Hansen and Lillie to piano lessons, picked up Preston and his friend Nick from track (which was let out early due to horrible weather), gave Nick a very bad time about wearing WSU gear in my car, brought Preston to an informal soccer kick around. Picked up Slurpees for Hansen and Lillie as they were troopers (party!), then went home and did tons of homework, had baked potatoes for dinner, and then fought over the replayTV as we are on our 4th or 5th day without cable TV. Phew! I am exhausted just typing all that.

Today should be a good day...but I have to leave early to work for a training session for testing, so Maren is taking the day off (yes she earned the hours the last few days) to get the kids out the door and stuff.

See you tomorrow.

McTeacher's night, baseball, orthodontist and more.

Good morning, it is Wednesday.

Last night worked out just fine. We beat the clock and dodged the rain the whole evening. Things started with Preston's orthodontist appointment. He was very excited because he no longer has to wear rubber bands in his mouth! They're straightening out one or two more teeth, planning a "tooth manicure" for next month and things are going great. He may not even wear his braces for as long as we will be paying for them.

Then it was off to McTeacher's night at the Covington McDonald's. I probably should have been working, but I had to leave early for Hansen's baseball game and I had Lillie and Preston with me. I don't think there will be any grumbling about me just hanging out and eating with the kids. There were quite a few teacher in their cool McTeacher's shirts making up ice-cream and selling cookies. Here's a quick pic of a few teachers:

During McTeacher's night, it was just pouring rain. I didn't think there was any way Hansen's first baseball practice would be on. But as we were driving to practice, the sky opened up and the sun came out. Hansen said that the huge rainbow (yes it was huge) was landing in the outfield...I asked him why he didn't just drop his mitt and go looking for the leprechaun and his pot of gold...haha. I just got a "you're one crazy dude" look out of him for that remark.

As mom was getting ready to relax and watch a little American Idol, the boys thought she was looking comfy and decided to join her just long enough for a picture. I am not showing you the "funny face" picture...you will have to ask in person for that one. Our cable TV has been out for a few nights now...somehow we are able to get a fuzzy picture through the replayTV, but it is just not the same. Our family is suffering...no Spongebob, no soccer channel, and no clear picture. Comcast, grrr.
See you tomorrow.

Dodgeball

Good morning, it is Tuesday.

Last night was Preston's soccer banquet. Dodgeball style. I think all 18 kids from the team were there as well as siblings and parents. For some reason it was decided that it would be parents vs. kids. So all those kids vs. like 7 dads willing to go get dodgeballed. Hansen and Lillie were out there too. In fact, Lillie was one brave cookie! She was right in the middle of it all dodging and throwing...and in the middle means right between all the 13 year olds trying to kill their dads as well as the dads trying to nail the kids. The dodgeballs were flying FAST! It was great fun and I am very sore! The picture is from when I was "out"...doesn't show the dynamics of the game at all, but it is a picture.

Today is another crazy busy day. Preston has an ortho appointment after school. Cedar Valley has it's McTeacher's night at Covington McDonalds. And Hansen has his first baseball practice of the season.

See you tomorrow.

Weekend in pictures, LiveSTRONG link.

Good morning, it is Monday.

This weekend we ended up at Southcenter Mall. Not on purpose. We wanted to eat dinner at Billy McHale's in Renton...but sadly, it is now closed. We really enjoyed Billy McHale's over the years! So we wandered over to Southcenter looking for some grub. Ended up at the Rainforest Cafe (Preston was at a friend's birthday overnight) and mall wandering.

Not much service at the Qwest booth. I was surprised how many places were closed like this. I guess when there is only one employee, they need their breaks too.
Lillie like all the pink, bald mannequins. Don't see these things at Costco.
Once the floor was mopped, Hansen and Lillie decided then needed to be dragged around by me. They are getting a bit big for this game these days.
The weather was nice enough to BBQ in the back yard!
This picture will give you a clue to what chores I have in store this week. The garden needs some nutrients and the area near the back fence and the front walk needs some bark.

I know I already mentioned that I will be riding the LiveSTRONG Challenge again this year. Amber helped me get a cool link for my LiveSTRONG Challenge page. You can view it here:

http://seattle2010.livestrong.org/jslane47

Today is Hansen's last track meet and Preston's soccer banquet. All this and Maren has to work extra late teaching.
See you tomorrow.

Young Author's Night/Earth Day.

Good morning, it is Friday!!!

Last night I worked "Young Author's Night" at CV. Tons of kids showed up (some in costume) with their parents to read stories they have written. A number of these stories were edited or proof read by me! It was a nice turn out and I think everyone had fun. My main job was to direct people to the proper classrooms as well as give out cookies and water. Giving out cookies and water can help one to be popular...easy job!

Yesterday was also earth day! The day that the local garbage collectors union decided to go on strike! I thought that was ironic. The strike only lasted a few hours and the garbage is being collected again.

Since it was earth day, I figured I would show you how I get to work each day. I ride one of my bikes to work every day. Yup, I have three bikes that are all for different uses and I like them all the same. I only have one house, one car, and one wife...hmm...I do have three kids! This is my commuter bike, it has fenders:

Today is art docent day in Lillie's class. Today it is butterflies or caterpillars out of tissue paper, glued over to make look cool. We will see if it works! I vowed not to use tissue paper again after last time...we shall see.

See you tomorrow.

awesome/amazing.

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Last night Lillie brought one of her best buddies a belated birthday gift. The party was quite awhile ago, a planed rock star party. Lillie was sick and had to miss the party...yesterday the gift was delivered, it was awesome/amazing:

Check out this next picture. If you look closely you can see that it is a picture of the biggest roller coaster at California Adventure in Disneyland. And who is riding? Yes, John and Carol in the front row. Right behind them are Claire and Stef. I can't believe Nana and Grandpa got on that ride...they are totally awesome/amazing! Stef texted us this picture and the kids were geeking out.
That is enough awesome/amazing stuff for now, see you tomorrow.

Clip shoes.

Good morning, it is Wednesday.

Yesterday my new bicycle pedals came in the mail! And I bought a pair of bicycle shoes for super cheap off Craigslist last week as well. So now I am going to be riding with my feet clipped to the pedals as so many other cyclist do. Sure, my equipment is on the heavy and cheap side, but geepers, some folks spend like $400.00 just for their bike shoes and pedals!

I finally signed up for the LiveSTRONG Challenge again for this year. Once again on Father's day in Seattle. Last year I rode the 100 mile ride and it took most of the day leaving me exhausted and late for the party. Some of my friends think I should ride the 100 again and just ride faster! I think I am going to scale it down and ride the 45 miler. That will still take 3 or 4 hours and I really don't need to spend much more time than that in the saddle on any given day.

I have a website link for the LiveSTRONG Challenge fund raiser as I am again required to raise money for LiveSTRONG...but I don't know the site. As soon as I figure it out, I will post it.

Today Preston is trying to figure out what he should do for sport. His soccer team is holding a voluntary open practice, but he should be at track practice. Sadly track practice has proven to be so completely boring and unfulfilling to Preston that he is actually contemplating quiting the track team. We are encouraging him to at least hold out until a track meet, because he may just enjoy the meet...and who knows, practices may be different after the first meet. Until then I am encouraging him to show up to his stations, do a long jump or two, a start or two, then just go goof off with his friends for the last hour of track. Seems that select soccer is way more structured and way more challenging than jr. high track. Go figure.

See you tomorrow.

Track, puppet.

Good morning, it is Tuesday.

Yesterday was one of those days where I wish I had a better camera. My phone camera works just fine 90 % of the time, but it would have been fun to get a picture of Hansen flying through the air at his track meet yesterday. The tips that Preston gave him seemed to work as Hansen jumped 11'2" and finished 2nd in the long jump.

But instead, this is about what my camera can do:

This is Lillie's hand puppet. Yup, Preston has some assignment where he is making puppets and Lillie wanted a hand puppet. This hand puppet was kind of fun, it was silly and liked to have fun. Good news about this hand puppet, it was in permanent ink, so it and its matcher will be around for a while.

See you tomorrow.

Cookies, bread, and a little rain.

Good morning, it is Monday.

This was quite a weekend. From one end of the spectrum to the other. Saturday Preston was not feeling too well and spent most of the day on the couch. When we did get him up and going it was raining so hard life was hardly fun. By Sunday he was feeling much better and the sun was up as well. Yesterday was a shorts and tee-shirt day around here! We even had a BBQ in the back yard! I have a few pictures for you, so I won't ramble:

You may remember last weekend Preston got out of Acolyting by promising cookies to the girls who took his place. He didn't let them down. Here he is Saturday night baking cookies!

Saturday we had to get out of the house around mid day. Lillie has some money burning a hole in her pocket so we gave in and took her to Claire's. She spent her $3.50 on a little cell-phone make-up holder thing. Money well spent! We ran through the rain to Cow Chip Cookies! We each had a Cow Chip Cookie! Luckily they make them with M&M's and chocolate chips!

Proof of the rain. Mid day Saturday at Kent Station. No one outside due to the crazy rain. Just us Slane's dashing from store to store.
Sunday the weather was much better. As our usual routine goes, Sunday School, Church, stop at the bank for allowance, stop at the bread store for doughnuts and bread, then out to lunch. Here's a fun pic of Mar and the kids leaving the store, you can see me in the rear view mirror. Preston stayed in the car with me just playing his PSP.

What else is happening in the world you may ask? Let me tell you. This weekend my niece Aurora turned two years old! She lives in Texas, so we didn't make the party. You can see a picture or two at Amber's blog:

See you tomorrow.

New earrings.

Good morning, it is Friday.

Last night was the big day Lillie has been counting down to from her birthday. The day she gets to change her earrings! For the first 6 weeks she had to just clean and spin the new earrings, but she couldn't change them. Yesterday was the big change day. And the earrings she chose were:

Cute little hanging flowers.

Today Hansen and Lillie have their class pictures. Lillie gets to change her earrings just in time!

See you tomorrow.

mini-lectures.

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Yesterday Hansen and Lillie had piano lessons. For some reason this last week wasn't the best week for practicing so I got my usual mini-lecture from their teacher on the importance of practice. Their teacher is half my age and cute as a button, but dude, mini-lectures on the importance of practice are no fun! Actually the kids have been doing very well overall so a single week slide is OK with me. Just don't tell their teacher I said that.

Usually Lillie's lesson is first and Hansen and I have a half an hour to waste. Usually we spend the first part running. Well, Hansen has a sidewalk near by that is about 75 yards that he likes me to time him on. Then we go to the van and play a game where you fill a piece of paper with dots and take turn making lines trying to make the most squares...you know the game. Hansen beats me about half the time. Then it is his lesson time.

During Hansen's lesson Lillie likes to walk to the park a couple of blocks away. She climbs and slides and then likes to race me around the perimeter...rules are in place for falling off the ledge and stuff. She wins about half the time. Yesterday she found a necklace and a pair of ear rings at the park. I wouldn't let her keep them, rather put them in the big toy just in case the young owner came back. She was then looking for other lost things (she is a tinker fairy at heart) when she spied a head band down the side of the hill. I let her go check out the headband when I heard her let out a loud shriek! Turns out there was a dead bird right next to the head band. She did spend some time checking out the dead bird, and moving the headband so she could grab it without getting too close to the dead bird.

Lillie was quite mad that I wouldn't let her just keep the headband, earrings, and necklace. She said if it was a penny I would let her...true. She said other kid's parents would let them and I should be more like other kid's parents. Hmm. I told her that it is a small neighborhood park and some little girl probably had to leave in a hurry and forgot her stuff...she would probably be back in a while and be sad if her stuff was gone. Maybe Lillie is right, maybe I should have let her keep the lost things...but I hope not, I hope some little girl came back and was happy to find her jewelry.

See you tomorrow.

No more brace.

Good morning, it is Wednesday.

Yesterday Lillie got to leave school an hour early to head to the dentist office for a 2 week check up on her teeth. The news was all good. The dentist said that the tooth is doing as well as it can be and it was time to take the brace off. I guess holding the tooth still for too long can be just as bad as letting it just flop around. Since the tooth is still growing, it needs to be free to grow. There was one little spot on the x-ray the dentist was a little concerned about, but he felt that without holding the tooth in place, it may just take. So even thought we won't know for up to a year if the tooth will recover, it is doing its best for now. We will be back in a month for another x-ray and if all looks good then, then it is back to the normal dentist for regular dental stuff. Finger's crossed.

Wearing cool shades, listening to The Princess And The Frog on the sound system. No more brace on the teeth and hoping for the best. This visit was without laughing gas, so for a moment or so Lillie didn't have tons of fun, but it went fast.

See you tomorrow.

Hansen on strike.

Good morning, it is Tuesday.

Yesterday was a good sports day, not a good chore day. Hansen got 3rd in the long jump! Preston liked track practice. Preston did mention how easy track practice was...he is used to intense soccer practices and this practice was just kind of tame for his taste. Hansen also did very well in the open 75 and in the relay.

The fun came around at home. The kids are not so good about remembering chores, so now they do their chores before going out to play. Basically there is a rotation so a couple days per week they do one set, and a couple of other days they do another set. Hansen just hates cleaning the art table because Lillie is the main user and she leaves a MESS. So after some fussing, he went on strike:

His strike didn't last long because he really didn't want to give up all the rest of his privileges in life. But his voice was heard. Lillie had to leave the table a little less messy, but the point of chores is cleaning so if it is his day, it is his day. We summarized that if Lillie had to leave zero mess, and that rule applied to everyone, then there would be no chores. Hansen didn't like that idea either. So we made it through the impass, the strike sign is down, and chores are being done...a little grumping and finger pointing along the way, but hey, it's chores!

Today Lillie goes to the dentist for her teeth check-up. We hope it is all good!

See you tomorrow.

Maren's hair, pizza, and stuff.

Good morning, it is Monday.

A busy, busy weekend that all worked out. I wish it wasn't over, this morning came too fast.

Preston was scheduled to Acolyte yesterday, but he needed to leave church a few minutes early to get to a soccer game (he was subbing for an indoor team). At the last minute a couple of Preston's girl friends took over Acolyte duty for him. He now has to bake them fresh cookies for next week. But it was worth it to him. He played well in his game, scored 6 goals, but the team lost 8-10. Indoor soccer is a crazy game and can be very high scoring.

Maren and her mom got fancy hairstyles yesterday after church while Hansen, Grandpa and me went to the bread store for doughnuts, picked up some pizza, and came home to crash in front of the TV to watch the Masters. Yay for Phil on his Masters victory. Hansen was totally distressed that I would cook the pizza before Maren got home. What if I burned it, no one was even here to eat it. Well, I did burn one pizza, and the others did sit for a little, but Hansen seemed perfectly happy to eat his share once it was cooked.

Here is Maren's new hair. Very nice! It looks a lot like her old hair only curlier, streakier, and a little shorter. Making her look right into the sun was not so nice, but hey...there was sun for once.
The twins came over for play and pizza as well. Her they are in Lillie's bed playing under her canopy. Hansen played basketball with Jack and had lots of fun with the twins too. Between Hansen and Jack moving 100 miles per hour, I didn't get any pictures of them this time.

This is how Lillie plays calm and takes care of her injured teeth. Hanging upside down is calm isn't it? I don't think Jack had ever seen kids just climbing trees. He will now have a new passion.

Today Hansen has a track meet and Preston has his first day of track practice. Maren has an eye appointment and Lillie will just have to hang with me and Hansen. Once we make it to 6:00 pm, things should calm down a bit.

See you tomorrow.

End of soccer/begining of track.

Good morning, it is Saturday.

Today is Preston's last soccer game of the season. As you know, he plays on a select team and the season is pretty much year round, but this is the last day for this team and for many kids. In a few weeks there will be try-outs for next year's team, and due to this teams successes as well as a few other team's closings, there will be a ton of kids at try-outs. Next year's team will look different and a few of Preston's favorite teammates may not make the team. Today could be a tough day for the kids, they're playing a tougher/older team, and they are playing for the last time as this team. Preston is thinking of trying out for a couple of other teams as well, but we anticipate he will choose to stick with this team.

So what will Preston do with his time away from soccer you ask? Track for his jr. high starts on Monday! We bought him his first ever pair of real track shoes the other day. If this pair of shoes looks like it is as big as the box, it is because it is! Preston is wearing 11.5 for both his running and track shoes!

See you tomorrow.

Haircuts!

Good morning, it is Friday.

Last night was haircut night. Lillie knew she wanted a haircut. Preston couldn't decide, and Hansen didn't even know. So I pulled out of the driveway with just Lillie in the car. Preston hemmed and hawed, then tossed the soccer ball aside and hoped in the car. Hansen looked like a deer in headlights...but not to be left out, he got in too. SportClips is where we went. I was going to take Lillie somewhere else, but they convinced me to stay with a good coupon. I will stop talking and let the pictures do the work:

So cute! I like the bangs and curls on Lillie.
Hansen loves his haircut. He thinks he wants to style it for now on...
Preston was very nervous. It turned out the last time he had his hair cut was actually 4/22/09. Once he decided and they started the cut, he was happy. These pictures are not the best, but take my word for it, there are at least three kids with good haircuts in the world!
See you tomorrow.

What is the story?

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Yesterday I picked Lillie and Hansen up from the bus stop as usual. On the 5 minute walk home I asked Lillie about her tooth and the usual questions about what she is supposed to do (or skip) at school for the rest of the week. I asked, "Did you sit in a safe place while PE was going on?"

"It was Indiana Jones day and I really wanted to play and like the PE teacher would remember anyway, not, so I just did Indiana Jones." Hmm. Indiana Jones is a fun PE game where kids have crazy obstacles to go over/under and around...just the kind of game she should not be doing with her tooth.

Then I asked, "How was the buddy room during recess?" She is supposed to go to a "buddy room" and read during PE time for the rest of the week.

"We had a guest teacher and she didn't know about the whole buddy room thing. Besides, I just wanted to go play at recess, so I did."

I did give Lillie a little lecture about why she should be skipping PE and recess, but I think the information went in one ear and out the other. All I can figure is the tooth is not bothering her any longer, but still, it was dentist orders. I know today she will not have PE and who knows what will happen at recess. I am just a little worried about Lillie's teenage years...hopefully she just wants to make good choices because it is clear she will just make whatever choices she wants. Yikes.

In the car on the way to and from piano, Hansen, Lillie and I had some totally crazy stories to tell. We have this new game where we play, "choose your own adventure story." The way we play is that one person starts a story, then at some point there is a choice, like: the princess kissed the frog and the frog turned into a prince, OR did the princess kissed the frog and she herself turn into a frog. So the next person in line (we go by age or there is just chaos) gets to choose the direction of the story and then has to tell the story until deciding a new choice for the next person. Hansen was stuck on gross, Lillie on princess, and I am just very random. Great stories!

See you tomorrow.

Last day of Spring Break.

Good morning, it is Wednesday.

Just like that, Spring Break is over. I called it Spring Blink. But we did get the most of our days off.

The Helping Hands group from our church (Zion Lutheran Church in Kent) caught wind of Lillie's tooth and mouth accident and yesterday and Lillie was given the best care package a 7 year old girl could ask for. She had paper dolls, bubbles, books, cards, and soft snacks that she can easily eat with her ouch tooth. Thanks to Shannon and Kirsten (who were Lillie's first Pre-school teachers) and the rest of the Helping Hands group. We are members of a great church!

Yesterday Lillie decided that she just had too much Easter candy and opened up a candy store. She had her brothers scouring the house for dimes and pennies. Later in the day some neighbors came over and shopped away as well. I am just hoping their parents knew they were spending money on even more candy! Here is a pic of the store:

Yesterday also turned into a shoe shopping day. Preston needed new track spikes for his track season that starts on Monday and Hansen was in need of shoes as well. I even picked up a pair for Maren and Lillie, but just like always, the shoes I bought for Maren don't fit. On the way back from shopping, I bought the kids slurpees! What vacation would be complete without slurpees?
Last night at bed time the kids decided they were hungry! No surprise there...they're always hungry. I told them toast was their only option. Preston had peanut butter toast, Hansen had Nutella on his toast...and Lillie was just making toast art. Check out her slice of toast:

See you tomorrow.

Spring break!

Good morning, it is Tuesday.

Yesterday was our first official day of spring break! Today is our last official day of spring break. That was a quick vacation! And so spring like...47 degrees and rainy. The birds are chirping in the morning, so it must be spring. Right?

Yesterday Preston spent the day with a friend, they went to the movies and just hung out. I took Hansen and Lillie to the library, then to Walmart. Lillie loves going to the library. She scourers the shelves finding book after book she want. Then she finds more and trades back and stuff. Hansen is a total crumb bum at the library. His exact words are, "My mom brings me home all the books I could want, why would I want to go to the library!" So he get to just sit in one of the comfortable chairs while Lillie gladly roams the place.

After the Library it was to Walmart for a few. I needed to pick up oil for the cars and the kids had a small allowance to spend. Hansen ended up with a Star Wars action figure and Lillie with princess ear rings and necklaces. But we almost never made it past the Easter baskets. Wow...the Easter Bunny totally forgot to shop at Walmart. The amount of left over Easter stuff is crazy. Maybe it is all part of the plan, they still may be making $$$ at 50% off, but yikes. This picture is only part of the stuff, and it goes as far as you can see:

See you tomorrow.

Easter weekend.

Good morning, it is Monday.

Maren just left for work, but it is spring break for today and tomorrow, so the kids are still sleeping.

We had a very nice Easter weekend. We were out the door nice and early each day, so I wasn't getting up early enough to be blogging. Let me catch you up with pictures:
This is a photo of Hansen and Lillie's Easter picture. We will be sending some out soon. There are a few other poses, but I like this one the best.

This is a photo of Lillie's 7 year old picture. This girl doesn't take a bad picture!

While Hansen and Lillie were spending the night at Nana and Grandpa's house Friday night and getting ready for the Burien Easter Egg hunt, Preston stayed at a friend's house. Austin's mom does hair and she straightened Preston's hair! Most likely Preston will save for a hair straightener and the hair saga will grow on. Teenagers! Preston also scored two goals in his soccer game on Saturday. His team won and Preston had a very good game.

Easter morning at our house. The Easter Bunny didn't forget about the Slane kids! The kids were all very happy that the Easter Bunny left it's trademark powder sugar footprints leading right up to their treat baskets! After a nice and quick morning, it was off to Church. Hansen and Lillie sang in the 9:00 and the 11:00 services. Preston was an Acolyte for the 11:00 service. It was nice to have Nana, Grandpa, and Stef there as well. The next pic has Hansen and Lillie in the front row of the choir.
These last pictures are from the Breakfast at the Burien Easter egg hunt on Saturday morning. Hansen and Lillie got to do a bit of coloring, and we all had a nice breakfast. Then it was on the the egg hunt. There were hundreds of kids. They did a very nice job of egg hunts in different areas for different age groups. Hansen's egg hunt was near a wooded park that was roped off. There must have been 200 kids all leaning on the rope waiting to go! The lady was about to tell the kid a list of rules using a megaphone and her first rule was, "nobody goes until I say...go." The kids on one half of the park heard the last word "go" and there was no stopping the tidal wave of kids! It was great. No rules, just fun!

Here is a nice picture of Lillie and Avery at the breakfast.

Also a Lillie tooth update: Lillie seems to be doing much better. She now has bruising on her cheek and a few canker sores where the teeth went through her lips. The the canker sores give her more fits than the tooth trauma did. Her tooth is braced in place and we hope is growing as it should again, but it may be up to a year the doctor said before we know for sure. She is one tough cookie!

See you tomorrow.

Happy Easter!

Good morning, it is Easter.

Happy Easter everyone! We have been having a great time with egg hunts, family, overnights, soccer, and all kinds of stuff. I just have not had time to post, so I will catch up tomorrow with pics and stuff!

See you tomorrow.

Friday

Good morning, it is Friday.

Yesterday was April Fool's Day. One of my favorite days. I didn't do any mean tricks on anyone yesterday, but I still had fun. At school there must have been 30 times where a student told me my shoe was untied or there was a spider on my shoulder or something like that. The funny thing is that when I went back to the same student who just told me that my shoe was untied, and told them that they had better tie their shoe because it was untied...I got them every single time.

The only joke I played on any of the kids was a joke on Preston where I woke him up 10 minutes early and said, "Hey Pres, it's time to wake up." Then he did his usual groan, then I said, "In 10 minutes!" Hahaha...I know, not funny. But Hansen actually came up to me at the end of the day and thanked me for not doing any jokes to him where he ended up soaking wet or something like that. Gee, who do these kids think I am?

Ok, it is 30 minutes later. My computer died a half an hour ago and now I have to get ready for school and stuff. Luckily this much of my blog was saved as a draft.

See you tomorrow.

Fingernail, auction item, new lawnmower.

Good morning, it is Thursday.

So yesterday while I was hanging out with Lillie (she didn't go to school due to her tooth trauma, but she is fine to go today) I decided to clip my fingernails. My little finger had this hangnail that was tearing towards the back and just bugging me. I carefully snipped around the edge of the fingernail and somehow the clipper got snagged and when I pulled it away with a little tug, my whole fingernail nearly tore off! I was running around holding my finger over my head as it was bleeding all over and Lillie was wondering what in the world had happened...it was horrible...APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!! That didn't really happen.

What did happen is Lillie and I got together her classes auction item. It's a watering thing full of flowers that the kids made in art class. The watering thing (I don't know what it is called? Can, pot, thing, whatever) is signed by all the students in the class as well. I hope folks like it enough to bid on it come auction time.

My new lawnmower also arrived yesterday. Yup, bought if from Amazon.com This is the first new lawnmower I have ever had! It is awesome! 20 inch cutting path, adjustable height cut up to 3 inches, and it never takes gas! The lawn doesn't look awesome yet...yet as in it soon will.
Have a great April Fool's Day!

See you tomorrow.
