And the cake...don't hold your breath.

Good morning, it is Monday.

I would say Preston had a very good 14th birthday weekend. Yesterday's party was lots of fun with the family here. Preston received tons of candy, lots of money, new soccer shoes, a soccer ball, and a memory foam mattress for his bed. Way more than even he ever expected. So it was good, but now Lillie and Hansen will have slightly higher expectations for their birthdays...yikes.

I had known that Nana and Grandpa were buying these shoes for Preston, so I tried to make a cake to match. It turned out just fine. Above, the cake...below the actual shoes. By the time the guests had made it to the party, the swoosh had slid down the side of the cake a bit, but it was still a kick.
And probably the biggest surprise for Preston was the memory foam mattress. He has wanted one for a long time and it was maybe time for a new mattress. So we splurged. What is crazy is how small a box these things come in. He never guessed it was a was like foodsavored. Then it just expands to it's right size. We will see if we can wake him up this morning.

Back to the old busy, busy, rainy, rainy...

See you tomorrow.
