Kent/Tahoma Jr. High conference track meet.

Good morning, it is Friday.

Kent/Tahoma Jr. High combined conference track meet finals were last night. Preston qualified for the long jump, 100 m. dash, 200 m. dash, and the 4X100 relay. Preston is also a 7th grader in a meet dominated by 8th graders. Preston did not disappoint!

-1st place in long jump (17' 7.5")
-2nd place in 100 m dash (12.00 sec)
-3rd place in 200 m dash (25.36 sec)
-6th place team in 4X100 relay.

Great track meet kiddo! Preston had a very long jump, maybe closer to 19 feet (his PR is 18' 6") not count because the person watching for scratches got distracted by a race on the track and just didn't see Preston's jump. But he still won by 6 inches, so it is all good. Preston had an amazing 100 and 200. He really improved in those events and a second and third was amazing. The same kid from Mattson won both events (and the 400) and was really amazing.

Here are some pictures and videos:

Getting ready for a long jump try.
Flying through the air.
Checking out the results of a jump.
Getting congratulated by his coach while helping with hurdles.

A video from my new camera of a long jump.

A video of the 100 m. dash. Preston was in lane goes kind of fast to really see everything.

After the track meet John and Carol treated the family to Red Robin for dinner! Yay!

Congratulations Preston on a great track season!

See you tomorrow.
