North Bend.

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Tuesday while Preston was still out at the Great Wolf Lodge with his friends, and Maren was at work, the littles and I headed out to North Bend to visit. H and L played with the twins and I helped build a new TV stand. It is amazing to me how light these new big TVs are. Way lighter than their smaller glass screen counter parts. We still don't have one of the huge, slim style TVs...and it may be awhile. We have been lucky enough to get Mel and Courts old TVs when they upgrade to the HD type...that makes our big one in the living room and a smaller one I brought home Tuesday. Thanks guys! On the way home from a fun day playing and building, we took a quick stop (like there is a such thing) at the outlet stores. Lillie found some great deals at the Claire's store, while Hansen found out that he now wears the most popular shoe size for outlet shoppers (men's size 9) and all the soccer shoes he would have wanted were sold out in his size.

This picture is Lillie showing off some of the great finds she picked up at Clare's.

Our timing for a North Bend trip was perfect if you don't enjoy driving in the snow. Yesterday was a snow day around here. We woke up to a couple of inches that cleared off the roads during the day. The roofs and yards are still white and it snowed again last night.

Yesterday Lillie got to spend the day with her friend Lily. They had a great time and Lillie wished she could have stayed longer. Preston went bowling with his friends. He said the first game was bad, and it got worse after that...you know, trick shots like spinning around, between the legs, you name it! We will see what today brings.

See you tomorrow.

Just Dance 2

Good morning, it is Tuesday.

Except for Maren, who went back to work this week, the rest of us are in full staycation mode. Preston is not even here, he is off at the Great Wolf Lodge with some soccer friends. Between visits, play dates, and outings, our calendar is looking pretty full!

The other day we went to a local BMX track to just ride around. The attached Frisbee golf course was actually kind of busy, the the track was empty. Lillie made it all the way around once, Preston and Hansen had fun riding, and I raced anyone who wanted to lose! Preston has some of the awesomeness on his new video camera, but we haven't figured out how to download the videos just yet. Lillie and Claire found going around the track on foot to be just as fun as on bikes.
The other thing that has been tons of fun for the last few days is a new Wii game called Just Dance 2. You just hold the Wii remote and copy the images on the screen. Lillie totally rocks at this game! I though I was pretty good until Maren gave it a try. Preston also has some video of the dancing fun...but trust me, that footage will not make it into cyberspace.

Right now we are feverishly planing amazing things for Maren's 40th birthday. The shroud of mystery is like a thick fog around here as the kids know what is up but are not allowed to tell. There are maybe also be a few secret e-mails being sent and received that Maren is not allowed to read. It is all very mysterious, and Maren is getting a bit nervous. Hahahaha Ha!

See you tomorrow.

Even the carrots?

Good morning, it is Sunday.

Last night at 9:00 pm Lillie came racing home from the neighbor's house, "I'm invited to sleep over, I'm invited to sleep over! Can I sleep over?!!!? pant, pant, pant." It was late and we were about to send Hansen's friend home for the night, Hansen's friend being the brother to Lillie's friend who invited her for the sleep over. So after a 1 minute conference with Maren, Lillie was sleeping over at her friend's house and Hansen's friend was sleeping at our house. We try to plan, but why? This is how it usually goes. Lillie was packed and ready to go in 12 seconds flat...she was gone before we could ever think of changing our minds. She has been waiting for an official sleepover since as long as she can remember. And right now at 10:23am, we have two boys sleeping on the floor and one on the couch.

Here are a few of pictures from the last couple of days:

Lillie wrote a letter to Santa and placed it next to the cookies and milk she left out for him next to the fireplace. As you can see, Santa didn't disappoint. He not only left "winner" gifts, he ate the cookies, fed the carrots to his reindeer, and took a moment to write back!
Maren and Preston hanging out together for a moment on Christmas Eve. No picture of me, and a squinty eyed pic of Maren. Way better than the video Preston shot last night of me and Maren having a "dance off" to our new Just Dance Wii game. Lillie is the queen of Just Dance...very fun!

Lillie with her one-of-a-kind cloak and her American Girl doll. This cloak is amazing and totally Lillie. It is hand made by Nana (Carol) and really amazing. Two sided with leopard print on one side and red velvet on the other. Lillie wore it to the Christmas Eve service (leopard side out) and received tons of comments!

After the twins left yesterday (we had a great visit with them...drumming and running around) Hansen settled down to build his new Lego Architecture White House. It is already built...very cool!

See you tomorrow.

Merry Christmas

Good morning, it is Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone! We just finished opening tons of gifts and enjoying our Santa presents! Now I'm taking a break blogging, Maren is cleaning up wrapping paper and putting cinnamon rolls in the oven (thanks Mar!), Lillie is making flower bouquets, Hansen is reading about his new PSP, and Preston has gone back to sleep! Lillie was up by 6:30 this morning and we just couldn't hold the excitement off much longer. It was perfect. I even video taped some of our Christmas craziness, while A Christmas Story was playing the opening presents scene in the background.

Yesterday we spent Christmas Eve at John and Carol's house. We had a great day. Swedish meatballs, lefse, fruit salad, and tons of other yummyness. Mel, Jack, Avery, Stef, and Derek were there along with all of us and the hosts. After a great dinner it was opening presents. Hansen helped build a new riding toy for the twins. I think I could make a living juggling for the twins...they can't get enough. I juggled balls, babies, and toys. I totally freaked Jack out by wrestling a little too roughly with Hansen...Jack thought Hansen's end was near. After dinner we headed to our church for the 7:30 Service. The church was packed and the service was very nice. In a few hours from now, we will have the whole gang at our house, yay.

Here are a couple of pictures from the season:

This is our Santa picture this year. Shannon is the top left, Mr. Jim is between Preston and myself. They were visiting and we insisted they be part our family picture. This picture is so classic because of how Hansen is laughing his head off while Mr. Jim looks all Innocent...but those of us that were there, we know the truth.
This picture is of Lillie (on the left in the blue) playing the part of Mary for the church Christmas pageant. Hansen was a wise man, and Preston was in the balcony playing his clarinet. The kids all did a great job.

Merry Christmas everyone, see you tomorrow.

Grandpa Sandler's funeral

Good evening, it is Thursday.

Welcome back to blogging! I have been out of town for the last few days. I flew down to Florida to attend my Grandpa Sandler's funeral service. I took red-eye flights and was there for just two and a half days. Grandpa's funeral service was beautiful. It started at his and Bernice's synagogue. There was a very nice service with words by his children, grandchildren, his niece, and a few good friends. Not only did I get to talk, I also got to be a pallbearer. At the cemetery, there was another small service, and again the grandchildren were a big part of the ceremony, sprinkling dirt from Israel on his casket. Other traditions were observed as grandpa loved tradition. Then it was back to the synagogue for food and visiting with family. And lastly a very nice ceremony in a smaller holy room. Many of the traditions and chants and parts of the ceremony were not familiar to me, but it was so great to be there. I feel very honored to be Robert Sandler's grandson, and the ceremony really put us grandchildren in a cherished place. Grandpa Sandler's funeral was both very emotional and beautiful. As sad as it was to visit for his funeral, it was also great to get to meet Bernice's wonderful family. Her children and grandchildren are great! The love they had for my grandpa and that they have for Bernice was very evident. It was also great to meet my mom's cousins, see relatives I haven't seen in years, and meet many of Grandpa and Bernice's friends.

Here is the link to Grandpa Sandler's online obituary, it is very nice:
www.legacy.com/obituaries/herald/obituary.aspx?n=robert-sandler&pid=147335538&eid=sp_shareobit

While I didn't get any pictures of anything the day of the funeral, I did get a few pictures from the next day.

Here I am at Hollywood Beach with my feet in the warm Atlantic Ocean.
This is just a road we were driving down. I'm in the passenger seat of my mom's car. Check out the palm trees and the sunshine!

Here is my mom on the beach. The beach was very crowded with all kinds of people. Such a different world than where we live. I don't have any pictures of Joey either, he is my folks golden retriever, he is a great dog.

I was able to go golfing with my dad! We played at the course he plays regularly, it is a great course and we had a fun time...way more fun than our score card showed. I did actually win $15.00 from a friendly member's competition. This picture is my dad...the self proclaimed bunker king.

This was a very special weekend. Both sad and happy. I'm so glad I made the trip.

See you tomorrow.

Thanks Mr. Rismiller?

Good afternoon, it is Saturday.

Maren and Lillie are currently at a "girls day" being hosted by Carol. Both Maren and Lillie are hanging with their cousins talking girl stuff doing an ornament exchange and who knows what other girly stuff...shudder!

Me and the boys are doing just the opposite...boy stuff. Eating pizza and blowing up things! After our pizza and pop, Preston had an idea that we just needed to try! He learned it from his science teacher Mr. Rismiller. As a strange side note, Maren and Mr. Rismiller were in an elementary class together and one of my favorite guest pastors at Zion is Pastor Rismiller, Mr. Rismiller's dad. Ok, I've typed "Rismiller" enough times...let me just show you what we did:

The first video is the first 2 minutes. This is where Preston describes the experiment in detail, then it fails miserably.

This second video is the last minute. Preston got it right in this try...and we have some fun jokes and stuff going on.

So if you have a spare few minutes and you want to see what we do for fun around here, watch the videos!

See you tomorrow.

School's out...piano time?

Good morning, it is Saturday.

School's out for the rest of the year! My FB status, until Preston hacked my account and put gushingly good things about him for my status was: "Last school day before drinking, I've been Christmas all day!" I thought it funny, but really I just copied Stephen Colbert's tweet, not exactly, but close.

What better way to celebrate winter break than a piano recital? I can think of a few, but the littles didn't have a choice. Here are a few pics:
Before the recital. Hansen and Lillie get rid of nerves in a little different fashion.
Lillie posing at the grand piano.
Hansen posing at the grand piano
And afterwards. All the kids are all smiles. Great job kids! We heard a ton of great music.

I recorded Hansen and Lillie's performance on my phone, so you can hear the performance if you see me or my computer.

See you tomorrow.

Santa?

Good morning, it is Thursday.

One thing I enjoy about working at an elementary school is all the great tee-shirts the kids wear to school. From selling siblings to crazy monkeys, you name it...it is on a kid's tee-shirt. Well, this is one I saw on a 1st grader yesterday. It is my favorite Santa shirt yet:

Yup, if you can't read it, it says, "SILENT but deadly NIGHT" and Santa is farting his way down a chimney. You got to love the fart jokes!

Speaking of Santa, we were going to visit Santa at the Covington Library last night as he was visiting. Yes, we did see him at the community center a week ago, but we thought another visit wouldn't hurt. Well, the place was a zoo! When we showed up we were given number 114. And number 70 was sitting with Santa at the time. Well, we wandered around and checked out a book or two, but when we left he was still just on number 82. Lillie was bummed, but that was one popular Santa. Maybe because it was at the library? Maybe because you didn't have to buy pictures? Who knows why, but it is true that Santa was a big hit at the library.

See you tomorrow.

Miscellaneous stuff.

Good evening, it is Tuesday.

Preston is at his school's basketball game, the littles are practicing piano and playing, Maren is working late tonight, so I have time to blog.

These are a couple of my favorite miscellaneous pictures from the last few days:

Mr. Robinett is a teacher I work with who just so happens to be a huge WSU Cougar fan. Well, I don't like to bet too much on anything, but a dollar here and there is great. Yes, the U of W won the Apple Cup and I won a dollar from Mr. Robinett. This little paper frame is featured on the wall of my little classroom at school. I would have waited until he paid me to post this as it would look much better with a real dollar in the frame, but I just didn't want to wait any longer. Besides, I am used to my WSU bets not being paid...I think I am still owed car wash from a few years ago? Hmm. There was a guy featured on the news, a Cougar fan, who lost a bet and had to walk 13 miles to work while carrying a U of W flag! I got a kick out of that. Maybe I am an overbearing U of W fan? Probably.
This next picture is Maren's new refrigerator magnet. Her friend Shannon gave it to her. It is perfect as Maren really doesn't enjoy camping. She would much rather sleep in her own bed or a hotel bed every single night of her life than ever set foot in a tent. I am starting to agree with her!

I have to go, Lillie is singing and dancing to Christmas songs and Monster Jam is on TV.

See you tomorrow.

Derek, soccer, choir, and flooding.

Good evening, it is Sunday night.

The kids are watching Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, so I have a minute or two to blog. I'll sleeping in an extra half an hour tomorrow morning!

Last night we went to John and Carol's house to have an official dinner introducing Stef's new boyfriend Derek to the family. Yeah, that is big time. We all like Derek, and it is clear that Stef really likes him, so we all say yippee! Besides meeting Derek, the kids got to hang with their cousins. That is always a winning combo, and breakfast for dinner was the best. I'm still stuffed...or maybe that is the BBQ Chicken wings I just finished from down at Starfire.

Yup, Preston's indoor team was in the finals. They played the 1st place team for the championship. It was a great game and Preston played very well. The kids took an early lead but just couldn't hang on and ended up loosing 6-5 in the end. It was a great game to watch, of course I always want Preston's team to win, but I do enjoy a good game even if it doesn't go our way.

This morning at church the choir ran the show. It always cracks me up because the choir just rocks, they really are great, yet no one ever claps during or after songs. They did get a round of applause at the end of the hour, but man, Lutherans are a bit tight when it comes to giving applause. The kids also had their rehearsal for next weeks big performance. I didn't stay to see it as I went to Pastor Rismiller's class on Romans. Maren said that the rehearsal went just fine and Lillie did a great job in her roll as Mary. John and Carol would have really enjoyed the choir today, but they were at home working on keeping their basement dry. Yep, it is been raining nonstop around here and their basement is flooding. Ouch! Maren mentioned that as a small child she kind of thought splashing in a flooded basement was kind of fun...but only for her...not so much for her mom and dad. Maybe they will catch the choir performance first service next week then stick around for the Children's play second performance. Besides Lillie being Mary, Preston is playing his clarinet and Hansen is singing with his age group.

Off for some hot cocoa, see you tomorrow.

Mr. Jim, Shannon, and Santa.

Good morning, it is Saturday.

Yesterday was a very much anticipated visit by Mr. Jim and Shannon. A couple of favored librarian friends. These visits are a bit more rare these days as Mr. Jim now lives in Texas. We had a nice visit with them and even went out to the local community center and took our pictures with Santa! Yes, that is right, Santa was at the Timberlane Community Center and Yuen Lui was taking pictures! We had a picture taken of all seven of us. Mr. Jim was cracking jokes the whole time which even had Santa letting out a few extra Hohohos. We will pick up the pictures on Friday, but we were not allowed to take any of our own pictures. Here are a few, but none of Santa:

Hansen, Lillie, Shannon, and Preston. All having a ton of fun. Where is Mr. Jim? I don't have a single picture of him on my camera:(
This is at the community center. After posing with Santa, it was off to making cookies. Shannon was showing off her mad cookie making skills to the boys.

Yes, that is Lillie's head and the boys in the background.

Thanks for visiting us Mr. Jim and Shannon.

See you tomorrow.

Title Math Night.

Good morning, it is Friday.

Last night was Title Math Night at Cedar Valley. There was a nice turn out and I think everyone had a nice time. I was in charge of the table that was passing out the free stuff. Each student was given a free white board, dry erase crayon, and a dice game or a card game. This was all after a quick little dinner of a hot dog, chips and water.

This is me running my little booth in the library!

It is my policy to keep the blog light and happy. I mean, this blog is a blog to celebrate life and the fun our family has. But last night my Grandpa in Florida suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. My Grandpa and family are on my mind, and in our thoughts and prayers.

See you tomorrow.

Band concert.

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Last night was Cedar Height's band/choir concert. They had everything from 7th grade choir to 8th grade jazz band. It was a very good concert, I really enjoyed having the choir there as well. Preston is in the 8th grade band and played very well. The picture below is just the 8th grade band:

Hansen and Lillie didn't have as much fun. Unless you think being bored and kicking your siblings is fun, then they had a great time! John and Carol came as well. I am sure they enjoyed the performance as well. Lillie had the line of the night, we were trying to decide if we should go out to ice-cream afterwards, but the Littles had been kind of cranky. Lillie said in her whiny voice, "I can eat ice-cream AND be cranky!" We did stop for ice-cream, and many of Preston's friends showed up as well, a fun ending to a nice evening.

See you tomorrow.

Kids take over the Ram night.

Good morning, it is Wednesday.

Yesterday when the littles got off the bus, they were wearing stickers that read, Kids Take Over The Ram Night for Grass Lake"...Well, they were kind of wearing them. Actually Lillie had hers on he nose like a beak and Hansen got off the bus doing his best to put his on my back without me knowing. Somehow Lillie ended up with both of them on her back by the time we got home.

We decided that since we like the Ram and had no other plans, we went! Some percent of the income that night went to the kid's school, so it was "helping money", yay!

Lillie got a Hello Kitty face painting.
Then she covered up Preston's face in this picture to save him from the blinding flash on my phone camera.

We had a nice time, saw some friends, and hopefully helped the GL PTA at the same time.

See you tomorrow.

Ducks, Soccer and Balancing Brooms.

Good morning, it is Monday.

Yesterday evening Preston's indoor soccer game was the semifinal match. Preston's team finished the season in 2nd place so they were playing the 3rd place team to see who would advance to the finals. They won easily and next week the finals. Should be a good game, they will be playing a team they haven't beat, but have always had close matches with.

I was able to get Lillie to want to come to the game with me because of...Pizza. And the park. While Preston's team was warming up, we headed to the park. Lillie has the knack with ducks, she quacked and they all came running!

I don't have pictures of the game, I guess I was just watching it. John came by and got to see the game too.

What else happened this weekend you may ask? Well Hansen cleaned his room like he does every weekend. But more than just cleaning his room, he figured out how to balance the broom!
See you tomorrow.

Huskies Win Apple Cup!

Good morning, it is Sunday.

Last night was the Apple Cup! The state rivalry between U of W and WSU in the last football game of the season. The last few years have been poor seasons for both teams, but both teams are getting better of late. The U of W won in amazing fashion last night. Not only did they win, but now they go to a bowl game! Wahoo.

I didn't make too many bets this year. But I did make one with a co-worker. He is all Cougs all the time. I will be proudly displaying the dollar I collect from him in my classroom come Monday morning!

Yesterday I was walking home from dropping the truck off at the service station and was talking to a construction fellow at the crosswalk about the Apple Cup. Right then an old pick-up dies just meters from the gas station. We ran over and gave the kid a push into the gas station. He nearly made it! Then a while later an old car went flying by with two police right behind it. Anyhow, pretty exciting walk home from Covington!

See you tomorrow.

Lucia Bride

Good morning, it is Saturday.

This morning Maren, Lillie and Lillie's American Girl Doll went to church to have fun at the Lucia Bride Party. The plan is to meet up with Nana and Stef as well. They didn't do this last year, so I am sure they are having a great time as I type.

As of yesterday, one of our neighbor houses (not in the culde-sac, but just below) is selling Christmas Trees! I have never in my life just seen a resident plop Trees in their yard and sell them. The folks in the house are renters...hmm.
See you tomorrow.

conferences.

Good morning, it is Friday!

I'm wearing my U of W shirt today because of the Apple Cup this weekend. Go Huskies!

I installed a new radio in the pick-up truck along with new speakers last night. The sound is much clearer and the display is a bright blue! Maybe too bright! It is not a very fancy radio, but it should work just fine for many years to come.

Last night was teacher conferences at the middle school. The way they do it is they just put the teachers in the gym for a number of hours and you can go and talk to them if you want. Last year I didn't really like the idea, but now I do. When I went last night to meet Preston's teachers I went right after their break at 5:00pm and the place was very empty. Last year I went earlier and it was very busy. Go figure. Maren has gone to all the open houses and gets a good feel for his teachers that way. I have gone to the 2 minute conferences and like that just fine. It is interesting to see how Preston swims in such a big pond. He is doing great in his honors classes. His teachers all think he is funny and has a great work ethic. We couldn't be prouder. His hardest teacher (in Maren's and Preston's opinion) said that off all her students, Preston is one of the few that she never has to even worry about doing a great job. The funny thing is that the only class his teacher thinks he slacks too much and goofs off too much is in PE. This is also his only class he is not in with his Honors track. So it is a wilder class and he has some friends that are very good at goofing off in that class. When the teacher told me Preston is getting a "B" and should be proud, I just laughed. I told him that it is ironic that the only class he has ever even gotten a "B"in before was also PE as he always aces his honors classes. I could tell the teacher had no idea that Preston was an excellent student nor did he know Preston was the conference champ in track last season. Anyhow, I either made Preston's life better or worse by letting his PE teacher know that he really is a stand out student and athlete. We shall see.

That's my news for now, see you tomorrow.

Let the holiday season begin!

Good morning, it is Thursday.

Yesterday was December 1st. December 1st is aways a very anticipated day around these parts because it is the first to open all the little Advent Calenders that start on the 1st and go to the 25th. The first day of the Advent season at church was last Sunday, but those candles don't seem nearly as exciting as the little chocolate candies in the Advent Calendars. But December 1st was also the start of Channukah this year. You may know that my Jewish roots go back through my mom to my Grandpa Sandler who along with his family has been very active in Judaism from teaching and starting the Jewish Studies department at the University of Miami to writing many articles for Jewish journals and newpapers, to just being very active in their local Synagogue. I wasn't raised Jewish, but thanks to my Grandpa Sandler (who turned 87 a couple of days ago-Happy Birthday Grandpa!) and my Grandma Bernice, I am in the know...as are my kids. So in there with all the advent calenders is a very nice Menorah that we lit last night per tradition along with reading the blessings.

And if the start of Channukah and Advent calendars wasn't enough, Lillie got some new boots!
See you tomorrow.

I'm baaaack...with pictures!

Good morning, it is Wednesday.

Yay for having a computer again. Well, I have lots of pictures for you. We had a very nice Thanksgiving break. On Black Friday we slept in and let all the crazy shopping go to other folks who didn't need their sleep or their money. But in the afternoon we did head into Seattle to play tourist, see the tree lighting (kind of), and the enjoy the play A Christmas Carol at the 5th Ave. We even got to check out the National Geographic Warehouse sale that we just happened to stumble upon. Here are some pics:

Looking through the window at the Nordstrom's Santa. He did wave to Lillie and the kids, but we weren't standing in that line!
Being "Black Friday", there were folks with signs that read, "Buy Nothing Day", and right across the street there were even more with signs that read, "Buy More Stuff". Interesting.

We took the monorail to the Seattle Center to check out the Christmas scenes. We got to see One Crazy Raven do the Raven Dance, and some fancily dresses folks sing ancient Russian chant songs.

This is just a small part of the town at the Seattle Center, all the trains were running and there were plenty of kids pointing and yelling when the train came by.

Lillie wanted to touch the Space Needle. So we did. Here we are playing ultimate tourist, barging up next to the folks in line for the restaurant or observation deck just to touch the base of the Space Needle.

And the lit tree at the Westlake Mall in Down Town Seattle. We actually skipped the actual lighting to head up the street to the Cheese Cake Factory. We sure made the right choice, there was no wait and we even got to sneak in a few minutes early enough to get lunch prices! When we left, the wait at the Cheese Cake Factory was like an hour!

Hansen's favorite cup ever. He especially liked his Dulce Delche cheese cake.

A Christmas Story was great! We had a great time. On the way back to the car we got to tour some amazing gingerbread houses. They were super cool, like something from the Cake Boss.

That was all Friday, and I didn't even mention the great Thanksgiving dinner Thursday at John and Carol's house. I think the Twins finally like me now...Avery thought that Thanksgiving was my best birthday party ever! But that is not all you missed by me not having a computer, oh no...there is more. Like a part II to the blog:

Saturday night the littles and I slept under the Christmas tree! Hansen and Lillie enjoyed telling stories and then both slept well.

A couple of cousins we don't get to see very often were visiting from Indianapolis. We all got together for dinner at John and Carol's house on Sunday evening. This picture was taken after the twins left, but aside from Aurora, Camden, and Maggie...all of our kids and cousins were playing together. Very cool. This picture is goofy because of all the other flashes from other cameras, but it is good. Maren and her cousins were always photographed on these exact stairs. As you can tell, Preston is the oldest and the tallest by far, but Hansen and Lillie have perfectly built in best friends as cousins.

Well, nice to have the computer back. If you read all the way to here, give yourself a pat on the back and then get back to work...you're eating company time here!

See you tomorrow.

My computer is sick:(

Good morning, it is Sunday.

You may have wondered why I haven't blogged much as late? Well, my computer died! Yup, got a virus that blocked all the ways I know to fix it. I couldn't reset it and all the anti virus programs I ran didn't do the trick. So it is hanging out with The Geek Squad for a week. That place is not cheap...but it is cheaper than a new computer, so if they can clean it up and it lasts for a year, then it is all good.

We have been having a great time this Thanksgiving week. School was out for the week due to snow and luckily enough the snow melted in time for us to go downtown for the day to see A Christmas Story at the 5th Ave. It was great!

I will have pictures later and stuff, but for now I am starting to work on our Christmas Letter. So, check in if you want, I may post again before I get my computer back, but with my pictures and routines, I may not.

See you next week.

Snow Day!

Good afternoon, it is Tuesday.

Today is a Snow Day! Yesterday was an early release day, just in time. The snow started to fall, the temps started to drop, and the roads got crazy. Luckily Maren left work at around noon and made it home just as things were getting bad. There are reports of folks taking several hours to do Maren's commute just because they left a few hours later.

Here are a few pics of the world today:

This is my phone in "clock" mode. At 8:54 am it was 18 degrees at our house. Look, the high is supposed to be 21 degrees. Yes, that is Fahrenheit...and a picture of me golfing.
Now for a look out the window...My van is not going anywhere today.

Lillie on the back deck. She has been more excited than anyone to be in the snow.

Making the 3/4 mile walk to the school. That is where the sledding happens. That's Lillie leading the way. Hansen is in the back, but he is very excited to glide down the hill on his new sled.

Here is a quick shot of the hill at CV. Tons of kids having a crazy time. Luckily no major injuries while I was there, but it is kind of crazy place. The road behind this picture had cars getting stuck and quads having fun.

Here is a shot of Lillie (back) and her friend sliding down the hill. I don't have any good shots of Hansen, but I did take some video that he should be on.

Enjoy the Snow!

See you tomorrow.
