Good morning, it is Monday.
Maren and I had a very nice weekend in Seattle, and the kids had a very nice weekend in Burien. Maren and I had tickets to opening night of Joseph and the Technicolored Dreamcoat. We had seen the Donny Osmond show 15 years ago when it was in Seattle and it was amazing, so it was great to see it again. This show was very different in the way it was presented, not exactly what we were expecting, but still fun to see. Kind of like going to Vegas to learn about the pyramids rather than Egypt. The next morning we walked down to Pike Place Market, bought some flowers (I guess that is what you do at the market, everyone in Seattle knew that but me) and had coffee from the original Starbucks store.
We got to Burien in time to take Preston to the soccer store to buy some crazy bright neon yellow turf shoes and a pair of shiny shin guards. Also in time for a very yummy meatloaf dinner. I must admit that I have eaten well this birthday weekend!
The neighborhood was buzzing last night as a house just two blocks from our house burned most of the way down in a fire last night. I walked over and checked things out for just a few minutes with Hansen. The flames were very high and the trees were catching fire so they were worried about other houses and the natural gas lines. Very sad, that is two houses in our neighborhood in just the last year. We did not stay long, so we know no details.
Today is a normal Monday a for us...school, work, soccer, and homework.
See you tomorrow.
