This weekend was Maren's 20 year class reunion for Highline High School in Burien. Saturday Mel, Court, Jack and Avery visited during the day (Mel has a nice blog for the day at http://melanieostergard.blogspot.com/2009/08/fun-filled-afternoon.html) and Carol and John came out a bit later and stayed with the kids as Maren and I went to her Reunion at a dance club in Seattle called The Last Supper. Here is a pic of Maren and me getting ready to leave.
At the reunion dinner we all had name tags. The dinner was good, lots of old friends, a nice slide show, and some goofy awards all made for an enjoyable evening.
We made it home by 11:00 pm to relieve John and Carol. The next morning (yesterday) was a family picnic at Lincoln Park in Seattle. We attended the picnic as well. Lincoln Park is a very cool place with playgrounds, picnic areas, baseball fields, a zip line for kids (that I got stuck running for like 20 minutes) and of course the beach. Here are our kids plus Rhonda's kids skipping rocks at the beach.
There are not too many pictures of Maren and reunion friends taken with my camera, but there are a few. Maren said that while I was down at the beach with the kids that others were taking pictures, so there are more out there somewhere. Here are a few:
Maren and Nona...and Lillie.
Maren and Cheryl...and Lillie and puppy named Vanya.
Maren and Rhonda.
Maren is glad she went to both the Saturday night and the Sunday morning events. I am sure she will get together with a few of the folks from the reunion well before she sees them again in 10 years. Many of these folks Maren had not seen in 20 years! No more reunions for 9 more years...when my 30 years comes along!
See you tomorrow.
