4th of July!

Good morning, it is Sunday.

Yesterday we had a very nice day. Not much different that every 4th of July for the last many years. With any luck we will just keep the same routine for the next bunch of years as well...or something kind of similar.

We started out at the Burien Parade.

Jack and Avery showed up in style.
Lillie enjoyed watching the parade. The kids got lots of candy.
The pirate ship is a hated favorite. Great pirates, very loud Booms.
Back to our house for BBQ with the whole crew. This year Carol is out of town, but Mel, Court, Jack and Avery were around. I love grilling greasy burgers on the Weber.
Preston got to be in total charge of our fireworks. He had a big audience as we started early with Snakes and Smoke Bombs.
Hansen not feeling his best hanging out with his blanket.
Lillie enjoying sparklers in the dark. Many of our neighbors were out enjoying the evening. We had chairs set up in the front yard. The neighbors down the block had some very cool fireworks that went way up and exploded into very cool colors and zinging and stuff. Ours were fun as well, but nothing flew higher than the basketball hoop.
Once again the children were able to fall asleep around 11:30 pm to the sound of Covingtonians competing for the loudest bangs all around us. We really enjoy the 4th of July, great day.
See you tomorrow.
