Good morning, it is Sunday.
Last night I took Preston out for a quick trip to Fred Meyer's to buy some bread, cat litter, and whatever else we could find. In front of us at the check out line was a couple with a young daughter (maybe almost 3 years old) who wanted a toy really, really bad. For some reason they decided to choose the no toy at Fred Meyer's as the war for the moment and the kid was throwing a major fit. I dealt with those fits for many years, Hansen being the worst offender, and finally learned to 1. Not take kids shopping. 2. Don't take the kids shopping. and 3. Never take the kids shopping. If for some reason I had to take them shopping, I would just set the rules before entering the store, reminding of the rules throughout the store, and so on. Or maybe just let him buy a one dollar toy! Why not? But usually having them get to choose the milk or the cereal or something we actually needed usually did the trick. As I was feeling bad for everyone in that family for the war they brought on themselves, Preston spotted the 10 for $10.00 peperoni sticks in the check out line and gave me the "please?" face for one stick. Below is a picture of Preston enjoying a peperoni stick on the drive home, no crying, no war...and I got the other half of the peperoni stick, yum!
Last night was also our neighbor Greg's retirement party. He has lived in this culd-e-sac longer than us and will probably be here longer than us. They are nice neighbors and congrats to Greg. Look at the food at their house! Pizzas and home made yum...you can't even see the 3 BBQ grills working to the left. If you notice, we have yet another Maren spotting as she is getting Lillie a second slice of pizza!
