We had a nice vacation to Ocean Shores this Memorial Day weekend. Little snafus the whole way, but that is expected. First they could not find our reservation. An hour later they tracked me down to say they found it under "Mr. Flane". Preston called me Mr. Flane the whole weekend. The party for Brenda's 50th party was fun...especially for the kids who are very brave karaoke singers! Preston was first with Hey Jude sung with Marina and Neesha. They were very good. Then Lillie sung on her own, Love Story by Taylor Swift. The boys got me to sing with them, Don't Stop Believing by Journey, and then they sung How To Save A Life on their own. Here are a couple of pics:
Preston and Hansen singing in front of the ball room. How To Save A Life.
Lillie and Marina singing Love Story. Lillie sung this song herself first, then Marina and Katie wanted to sing the song and asked Lillie if she would sing with them, she did not even give them a look, and said "No, I already sang!" She changed her mind and went and sang with Marina.
Preston lining up a putt in the golf tournament...I think he just wanted to take a nap. We had a great time. Scramble with me, Preston, Mick, and Sherry. Sherry had never played golf in her life, Mick played well, and Preston struggled the whole way. We needed a drive, fairway shot, and a putt from each person. We were concerned about getting Sherry's shots in that we kind of forgot about Preston's shots...until the end. He needed his drive on the last hole, so he was on his own...He did hit a few good shots during the day, but not on that one! Our team won thanks to a few good holes (and putts by Mick). Preston loves the hat he won...has worn it all weekend.
We had our usual dinner at Dugan's Pizza. Had a great time with all the Davies. Used the pool and visited the beach. Really a nice vacation. The kids are getting so big that it will be two rooms for us some day! The twins had fun roaming everywhere, Lillie loved hanging out with them. It was also great to have many of the family (John, Carol, Stef, Mel, Court, Jack and Avery) there, and I think everyone had fun. Took a last drive on the beach yesterday morning, did our customary "doughnut" on the way out...tipping over the food inside the car and freaking out Hansen. Lillie could have done doughnuts on the beach all day!
It was nice to be home, here are the kids playing monopoly with the neighborhood kids in the evening.
See you tomorrow.
