Final band concert.

Good morning, it is Friday

Last night was Preston's final 6th grade band concert. The concert was very good, all the kids play so well. Let me say that there are a ton of kids in band and in orchestra! It was so crowded that even though we got there 15 minutes early, we had to sit on the floor and stand up against the wall. So I don't have much in the way of pictures. This is the only one I have of Preston playing his clarinet, and it is during warm ups. No matter, it was a great performance.

We had Maren's mom, dad and grandma come to the performance as well. I had to sneak into the staff room at GL (with the Principal's approval) and grab comfy chair for Grandma Mike (Great Grandma Ostergard, but Maren grew up calling her Grandma Mike and it stuck) so she could sit...she is 92 years old, she does not need to be standing up for the whole hour! Heck, I think she even slept some of the time...but when your 92 you have the right to take a nap whenever you darn well choose! You can see Maren sitting on the floor in the front of the picture.
See you tomorrow.

So kind of you, Julian. Mom and Dad brought Grandma to Kindermusik, too. She sat on the couch in the lobby with me and slept most of the time. When Mom called her on it she said she was just resting her eyes. She still has her sense of humor!!

Hmmm...in that band picture, doesn't it look like the girl next to Preston is gazing at him adoringly?

Yes Shannon, I would say you are correct. Preston has no clue, but those gazes seem to follow him around these days.
