Good morning, it is Wednesday.
Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. But I don't have pictures of everything. The night before last Preston's clarinet fell off the dining room table when he was getting ready to practice. The mouth peice broke and left the clarinet unusable. Preston was quite distraught by the dead clarinet as yesterday was band practice. He brought it to school and and a note and showed it to his band teacher. His band teacher said, "yup, broken!" and just tossed it in the garbage (the mouth piece). Last night we brought it into the store to be fixed and life sure would have been better if we had that piece to show the damage, rather than a story about a band teacher just throwing it in the garbage! Preston now has a new clarinet as a loaner, and I am not sure he will want to give that one back, it seems to make a difference.
Yesterday we had One Crazy Raven do an assembly at our school. He was great as usual. Below is a picture of his Raven dance done at the end of his inspiring performance.
This is a picture of one of my favorite assignments that second graders at do in writing class. They have done reports, poems, small moments, but now it is writing procedures. In this assignment the kids wright procedures on how to make a peanut butter sandwich. Then the teacher follows their instructions as read. Some end up with a jar of peanut butter in the bag of bread! But after a bit they all figure out how to write each step. It is fun.
