This has been a busy couple of days!
Friday evening Hansen and Alex got to have a sleep over at Carol's house. John and Carol took them beach combing at Seahurst beach and out to dinner. They were back yesterday in time for Hansen's baseball game where he hit the longest home run I have ever seen in his league. It looked like a Ken Griffey Jr. shot that went just a little too high, but never came down until it was well out of the ball park. Hansen passed up the runner who was on 1st base at the time on the way to home plate, so there are still a few rules about baseball to be learned. H also made a great play at third base, snagging a line shot and tagging third for a force out. Below is a picture of Hansen and Alex on their way out of town.
Maren and Lillie got to go to a baby shower on Friday evening for a co-worker of Maren's. Sounds like they had a great time and Lillie met a new Lily as well as another girl who became fast friends. Maren said they exchanged phone numbers and played crazy games...yikes!
Preston has his first ever 7th grade dance on Friday. All the 6th graders from the several schools who will be entering jr. high next fall go to attend a dance to get to know each other. Preston said he had a fun time...do you really think I would get more details than that?
With Hansen's baseball game and Alex and the weather and the timing, we ended up having a big BBQ at our house yesterday. We had a huge gathering, let see if I can remember with out leaving anyone out. Us 5, John, Carol, Stef, Mel, Court, Jack, Avery, Amy, Steve, Camden, Maggie, Annie, Kraig, Alex, Miles, (no Claire, boo hoo), Sue and her Black Lab Shawnee. We all ate great, BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs cooked on a 15 year old grill along with great potato salads and wonderful desserts.
I have not posted a video in a very long time, but this one is fun. It is of Carol and her sister Sue pulling grand kids Lillie and Camden in a pink toboggan down the small grass hill in our back yard. Just one of the fun activities happening around our parts this weekend.
See you tomorrow.
