Bragging about Preston.

Good morning, it is Tuesday.

Today is a day to brag about Preston. If you have had enough of Preston's amazing feats, stop reading now...tomorrow and the next day will be about bragging about Hansen and Lillie.

Yesterday was Preston's first track meet of the season. Yes, it rained and was cold, that is what track season is about in the PNW. Preston won the long jump by nearly 3 feet. He jumped 15 feet 2 and a half inches. His coach from last year said that no elementary school kid has jumped over 15 feet in many many years. Standing next to the pit with other parents, Preston just had a different sound to him. The other kids would run fast and whoomp! into the pit. Preston would run crazy fast and WHOOMP! into the pit...it was almost startling. Preston also won the 75 yard dash by a half of a second, and anchored his relay team to a win. His relay team actually dropped the baton between the first and second runner and was mid pack, but the third leg was fast enough to where Preston only had to pass a couple of kids to win the race. Thanks to Preston's long jump, we may actually get a break from watching soccer 24/7 on YouTube and start watching Carl Lewis.

Today is also Preston's parent teacher conference. Since Preston got thirty nine (39) 4's and four (4) 3's on his report card, and all the teacher comments were excellent, this conference will probably be another "Preston is great" fest. And well deserved, Preston does work hard to do an excellent job at school. I am not going to scan his report card onto the blog, but you can come look at it anytime...Preston will be happy to show it to you.

I tell Preston that he had better really enjoy his year because it won't take much longer for the rest of the world to start catching up with him. Probably in middle school when the other kids have the growth spurt that Preston just had and there are a couple thousand extra kids for competition, that he may actually have to work to stay the best. He is just like, yeah, yeah, and then he is off singing some Justin Timberlake or Akon song on his i-pod and texting all his friends on his cell phone.

Tomorrow will be about Hansen.

See you tomorrow.

Fifteen feet before the finish line of the relay race, Preston could do a long jump! And let out a scream to distract everyone. love, susanna
