Good morning, it is Friday.
Yesterday we finally got around to Hansen's 9 year check up. Yes, he turned 9 nearly two months ago, but that is how it works when you are slow to make a Dr. appointment for a kid who is not actually sick. Hansen passed with flying colors. He is in the 93rd percentile for both height and weight, a big solid kid. I don't know how it happens that all of our kids turned out so tall. Good for them. Hansen was cracking the doctor up with his jokes and dry humor. Me and Lillie were sitting off to the side. I have finally learned how to not answer questions meant for my children...but Lillie still has trouble letting others answer questions for themselves. For example, Dr. Wiseman asked Hansen if he is a good swimmer. I sat quietly to let Hansen answer the question, as he started talking in circles about swimming and ear tubes, Lillie chimes in about Hansen doing the "Puppy stroke" just fine (dog paddle?) and then goes on to tell Dr. Wiseman that when she is seen in a couple of weeks for her 6 year check up, she should not ask about swimming because although she has had some swimming lessons, she is not a great swimmer, and bla bla bla bla bla. The banter between Hansen and Lillie was quite funny, and Hansen was able to answer the questions for himself. Here is a picture of Hansen in his hospital gown. He did not like this gown one bit...Oh, and he did get one shot, his second chicken pox vaccine.
See you tomorrow.
